Individual psychotherapy
Psychotherapy for meaningful, practical change
Individual support for mental-health, relationship and life concerns, offered in person and virtually within Ontario where appropriate.
Concerns psychotherapy may support
Existing OSR services include support for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship or family difficulties, life transitions and personal growth. A consultation helps determine whether OSR’s individual psychotherapy service and available clinicians fit the request.
Consultation and clinician matching
The free consultation is a brief routing conversation, not a therapy appointment. Client Care considers the concern, preferred format and practical needs when identifying an appropriate clinician. The clinician’s professional role and rate are explained before booking.
Your first appointment
The first appointment gives the clinician and client time to discuss the concern, relevant context, goals and expectations. It is also an opportunity to ask about approach, confidentiality and how progress will be reviewed. Treatment planning develops from that conversation rather than a generic program.
Professional roles
Registered psychotherapists and other clinicians provide services within their authorized professional roles. Profiles identify approved credentials and roles so clients can understand who is providing care.
In-person and Ontario virtual care
Appointments may be available at OSR locations or virtually when clinically and professionally appropriate. Virtual psychotherapy is for clients located in Ontario at the time of service. Format can be revisited as needs change.
Fees and insurance
Therapy rates are CAD $150 for a student clinician, $190 for a psychotherapist and $225 for a senior clinician. Coverage depends on the insurer, plan and eligible provider category. Clients should verify coverage and limits directly with their insurer before relying on reimbursement.
Confidentiality and its limits
The clinician explains confidentiality, documentation and applicable limits at the beginning of care. This website and its consultation form are not crisis services. If there is immediate danger, call 911; in Canada, call or text 988 for suicide crisis support.
Frequently asked questions
Is consultation a therapy session? No, it helps route the request. Can sessions be virtual? They may be available within Ontario when appropriate. Is coverage guaranteed? No; clients must verify their own plan. How many sessions will I need? That depends on goals and progress and is discussed with the clinician.
